Lakes Entrance (I jinxed it)

So i think i may have jinxed this in my previous A bit of An Update post when mentioning things Conona wise were going well in Australia/Victoria….we’re now in a 5 day “circuit breaker” lockdown limited to going out of essentials and 2hrs of exercise within 5km of home. Unfortunately it meant we had to cut our holiday short, we were on a boat trip in the lakes around Lakes Entrance when we found out about the statewide lockdown.

We had a week escape planned to Gippsland in the South East of Victoria starting in Lakes Entrance for a 2 nights we were then going to head back via Tarra Bulga and Willsons Prom national Parts to Inverlock for a couple of nights. Ultimately on our 2nd day in Lakes Entrance the state government announced a state wide lockdown due to them getting another bunch of coronavirus cases leak from hotel quarantine.

After driving down we arrived around lunchtime in Lakes Entrance and just chilled out of the afternoon/evening playing some mini golf and having some fish and chips on the shoreline. The next day we headed out for a boat trip around the Gippsland lakes with Londale Eco Cruises (check their page for some much better photos than mine!). It is a husband and wife run boat and they were both super friendly and knowledgeable about the area. About an hour into the 3 hour trip we found out about the new lockdown but continued to enjoy the trip including the huge scones half way around! Although it was a bit overcast we had a great trip and got to see lots of wildlife including seals and dolphins at the Lakes entrance channel.

We had to drive back home the next morning but hopefully we’ll be able to continue our trip in the near future and i’ll hopefully add some more photos then.
